It's First Track Day
On the MOT, one advisory was given which was a coolant leak. Now I thought it would be best to sort that out before the track day. It came with a radiator and some Renault Coolant, but common problem being the bottom hose I decided it was best to change the hoses aswell...
I'm thinking of organising a Clio197.net day at Llandow. Haven't properly looked into it yet, but a Monday, Tuesday and a Thursday are the cheapest days to rent the track out.
Maybe something for next year in the Summer. Might put a feeler thread up about it.
I did this in my 172.
Had to let Tom pass a few times I'm not going to lie. Need better tyres! I span off on my first session haha. no damage though.
Yes I had a few issues of some people not moving out of the way, and if they did keep their foot on the the accelerator. Not what track days...
Looks great dude! Mine had the bonnet badge painted black. Very badly painted so it was saveable after I got the paint of it.
The new side strip badges will look way better!!
Any ideas?
There is a 6CD option on my 197 head unit when I scroll through the sources.
Would it be a case of, removing the changed from the 172 and fitting into the 197?
I have a 172 aswell as my 197.
Now the 192 has a single cd unit, and the 172 has a cassette player in the dash, with a 6 cd Changer.
Anyone know I I could swap the two over and have the cd changer in my 197?
Help would be appreciated.
If all goes to plan then it should be doing its first track day on the 24th. Trying to source a video camera to video it. Will be photos though.
Only thing I need to do is change the throttle cable, as pedal feels sticky, and been told its a common problem on the ph1's.
Diamond white is the Hard wax I think. I've used the Light Fantastic which is the soft version.
Real easy wax to use. But I find it doesn't last long enough.
Like said above, I'd use something like Collinite for the winter months as its much more durable.
I've just bought one of these. Bought it with the intention of using it as a track car....But bought a mint one and want to keep it that way now haha.
Looks good man.
Yeah I've always been a fan of them.
Gave it a wash this morning, so it's looking clean. Also topped the washer bottle up, a new rear wiper and checked all tyre pressure which i don't think the previous owner has checked in his ownership. Was 24-26psi in all of them!! All up to spec now.
Hiya guys. Just thought I'd introduce the latest car on my driveway.
I've always loved the look of the phase one clio 172, and have been on the hunt for one for quite a while. Seen a few tatty ones, and ones that need a lot of work.
I seen this one advertised and in the pictures it looked...
