The new brakes are now on the Clio. The new rear discs are Godspeed G hooks. New Ferodo DS1.11 rear pads. The new front discs are Godspeed G hook 330m discs and bells. Bigger Megane 3 callipers together with new bigger sized Ferodo DS1.11 brake pads. The Megane callipers have been...

    Swivel hubs.

Renault sell the two parts of the front hubs that come complete with new swivels but they are really expensive. They refuse to sell just the swivel joints alone so you have to buy non-OEM swivels. You can get replacement swivels and press them in to the hub parts that you have already.

    Swivel hubs.

How far do you want to go with the refresh? If you want to get uprated swivels then Rene Dizdar sells them. Or you could go for a set of OCAP swivels from Kam Racing. If you are going to replace the front bearings you can either pay for OEM Renault sets or get SNR versions as SNR make the OEM...

Question for the brake experts here. What is the best way to bed in new brake pads and new brake discs? The Godspeed discs suggest that they should be bedded in with about 250 gentle road miles. The front and rear brake pads are DS1.11s and to bed them in usually we block up the brake ducts at...

The new brake parts have now arrived. The new Godspeed front belles and discs look big at 330mm but they are only very slightly bigger than a standard Clio 200 312mm disc. This is one of the old smaller discs sitting on top of one of the newer bigger discs. The front belles and discs have...

    Clio 197 Ultra red-Fast road

If you are using your car on track I like Dunlop Direzza DZ03G tyres. On road Michelin PS4 tyres. I have used Gaz Golds for the past few years. Much better for track work than the B14 I had before. Wheels, I used to run a set of Oz Ultraleggeras until the front track of the car was extended...

    Clio 197 Ultra red-Fast road

I would keep your current engine until it blows up and then swap it. Clios are really quick round corners when they are set up properly. They do suffer with a lack of power on straights but part of the fun on track days is passing cars that should have more grunt but just cannot corner like a Clio.

@EthanMenace has found out what the problem was with the brakes at Donington Park on Friday. We did not check the driver's side front disc at the time and only checked the passenger side front disc. There are two large cracks on the driver's side disc. The cracks both go through to the...

Thanks - that sounds like good advice. We are using two sets of 7.5j Speedlines so apart from the wheel weights hopefully there will be no other fitment issues.

We went to Donington Park for a track day with Open Track today. The track day was on the GP circuit which we had not done before. Six weeks ago at Snetterton we developed a third gear crunch so had the gearbox rebuilt with new synchros and had the worst out Gripper plates replaced with more...

We have got some 75w110 in the box at the moment. Now we have got a temperature sensor for the box we can probably use an OEM spec level oil and see if it just as good. We are at Donington tomorrow so we can see how the box oil does when it is under load.
