Ok so turns out my vvt sensor seal was leaning oil into wher the spark plug was and thr coil couldn't get enough voltage threw when i floored it the ceramic had worn threw on the plug also

dose it in any gear around the 3-4.5k area. it will drive fine untill i give it any hard throttle e.g over takeing. to me feels like a coil or injector starting to fail but there is no fault codes!!

Hi all. I have a 2008 clio197 @51k it has recently developed a fault when i overtake or under heavy load it starts to shudder/missfire then clears and pulls ok. Iv read the codes but none stored! Tryed reading live data on missfire but nothing showing! Dose anyone have any ideas im thinking...

Ok everything checks out good changed the sensor and fault hasnt happend in about a week. Is this a common fault then? Yeah i work for landrover same foed engin in the defenders we do loads off them there is a service action aswell. Thanks for all the help though people! ☺

oil level is at the max line on the dip stick and the dash. message on the dash is "oil pressure warning" and the red stop light comes on, i have read the fault code's but none stored all clear. checked with the engine running that oil was reaching the top half of the engine by taking the oil...

What was the result of this as mine is doing exactly the same i was thinking maybe due to oil filter being blocked. Any help would be appreciated please!!!!!!

I had the common issue of 2nd and 3rd gear grinding a while back and got no where withe ruk so i took out an additional warranty (warranty direct) on my 197 and ended up doing the job my self at my work (i was happy with this as i knew no silly mechanics would be doing the job then :d ) so...

aaaahhhhh!! i payed £210 a side from my local renault dealership as i could not source these on there own. i fitted the whole assembly which wasnt too bad to do tbh! didnt look to bad to do the ball joint on its own though when they fail again i will defo be sourceing them on there own haha!

Think this is the route I will be going down buying one off these then fitting myself cheaper than Renault even with a contribution. do u know off anything I could do to prevent this happening again? one off the lads at my work mentioned shock proof gear oil he has it in his 900bhp skyline not...

Pretty shocking that a lot aren't even making to half there life expectancy though :( . Yeah thanks Foxspeed I have seen this on eBay are these gearboxes recons? Are you talking about the boxes you are getting with a warranty?
