He is and his experience in terms of setting the car up was crucial in the 24h race

Btw.: Bought a new suspension for my green 200. Bilstein BMR14 Stage 2 from Madeno Racing and also a full kit of polyurethane bushings all around. Should be a fine car when those parts and the new engine are in :thumb:

Ahh you're mates with Janis Waldow - I follow him on IG so caught a glimpse of the clio in some of his posts. Did a similar trip myself in July. (some pics on IG - user temeeo)

How do you rate the Madeno BMR kit? I presume it's the fast road version not the clubsport stuff? Does it use stock top mounts in front?

Yes, we're good friends and even share a pit garage at VLN

I really enjoy the new suspension and trust Leo from Madeno absolutely to get the best product for my needs.
We run his Öhlins-products in our race cars for years and won several championships and races with them.
The BMR kit (fast road version) is a perfect choice for backroad driving but still more "comfortable" then the stock dampers (which were 9 years old though ...). The car feels more planted and doesn't loose the contact to the road any more over hard bumps. At the moment I use stock top mounts and still need to put in the new bushings into the suspension parts. So I hope it will get even more direct for next year

Awesome, thanks for the feedback and good luck at the races this weekend! (what car, team are you in so that I could keep an eye out while watching the live stream?)

Thank you, I'm in our Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport (Team "Aimpoint Racing", number 964) in Class "Cup3" together with my dad

The race car got a big service so it can be used again this year on trackdays

- bodyshell finally fits the 9x17 wheels with slicks
- carbon doors
- new lexan side windows
- smaller mirrors
- new 100l fuel cell under the floor
- new seat and seatbelts
- new fire extinguisher system
- R3 engine and sadev gearbox serviced
- Öhlins suspension serviced
- small lightblox battery

The green street car gets freshly serviced brake calipers all around and a small service with fluids for the upcoming season

Small follow-up to the post from January

Additionally to the list above we painted the car in a fresh coat of white (inside and outside) and applied our livery from 2014 - full retro style :innocent:

Then we had our rollout with the cup-car last week. First time driving it since 2015 :anguished:
It still felt as great as I remembered and we had a lot of fun.

This week we are racing it on the nürburgring in a series called "Tourenwagen Classic", can't wait!

The louder/faster/crazier brother of my AG200 is "Nemo", our Ex-VLN-racer that now is waiting for trackday-duties. It has roughly 230hp through an R3-engine, an Öhlins-suspension and wider arches. We also ran a couple of races with a flat floor, a big diffusor and a splitter but it didn't work out the way we hoped it would.

Awesome car, do you know the weight?

How come the aero didn’t work out? Lots of track/race clios run splitters over here but never seen any evidence of it improving.

The car had 1059kg on the scales, with about 10l of fuel in it.

Aero didn‘t workout propably because we ran without a wing. Rear was very light…

But aren't other teams like Gerrit's for example also running their Clios without a wing? I remember a discussion about this and the general opinion was that a rear wing will only cost you topspeed while not contributing much if anything at all when it comes to handling.

Yes but they are also not running the splitter / diffusor / flat floor setup like we did. I think you have to balance the splitter / diffusor with a wing because otherwise the balance gets messed up. The car felt like that at least back then :grinning:

No wing is absolutely the way to go for top speed on the nordschleife, that is for sure.

I had no clue about the differences and expected you'd all run about the same setup. Thanks for clearing that up.

I hope you'll get the issue sorted. Go Nemo!
