Parts list for Gearbox rebuild

I’ll try and dig it all out mate.

Hey @Northloopcup sorry to bother you once again! I've got my box apart now  all good, third looks like the only problematic gear so not all bad news.

Was after a little advice (really appreciate it) - pulling the bearing off the input shaft - what tool do you use? A bearing separator/the pullers I have access too can't quite get underneath it. Rather than wildly guess/hope and buy shit off the internet I'd rather get the correct tool.

@Stephenvenning thought maybe you could help here too possibly?

I use bearing separators and a press mate.

That explains a lot - how'd you do it?
Go under the gear or the selector hub for 6th gear mate. You don’t need much to get the whole lot off. Just watch out for the spacer shim. It’s important that you put them all back in the same place they came from, as you will affect the shimming if not.

Thanks for this! I actually bought a separator which fits under the input shaft bearing (105-150mm one did the trick!).

Sorry for yet another question (I'm learning - had fun so far!). Replacing the diff/diff bearings - shimming wise, the manual doesn't seem to cover it - is there anything specific to do/measure? For other cars I see you measure how much torque it takes to turn the diff and shim accordingly, but can't find anything about that in the Renault manual.

Edit - I do really appreciate your help btw

I’ve never shimmed a diff in a tl4 mate tbh.

hello - sorry to bring up old thread, is there diffences in the Clio 197 gearboxes ? i'm picking up a reconditioned box for my 08 clio 197 .

number on box im looking at is : TL4 003

thanks

If your car is a 2008 your gearbox should be 024 with the higher 5th and 6th ratios your car will be reving higher to do the same speed 5th and 6th. I don't know by how much it will feel like.
