Trackspec Clio 197

Yes mate I can get boost through it too.

I’ll be a running a adjustable rising rate regulator after the rail and setting it to 3.5bar. The plan is to bypass the regulator in the sender and run the fuel pump direct to the sender outlet with the return flowing back to the sender and to the pump again.

Interesting, I'll be watching closely to see how it works and possibly copying! Just for reference: RS Tuning only went the return line and fpr route once they hit 356bhp and maxxed the 630s with only 1.1bar boost! lol
I assume you're going for more power then? 3.5 bar at the rail is plenty, the aforementioned r26r ran 1.75 bar through a hybrid and got 485bhp and 420lb/ft.

Time to start on the revised fuel system

First thing was to remove the regulator mount and feed.

Now to decide where to fit the new feed and return. I will also need to blank off the old feed hole.

Once this is all the welded up I’ll start on the new lines and fittings.

I could make another mate if you wanted one. PM me

Last night @Mark_L came over and welded up the fuel rail for me and did a fantastic job too. Just need to order and fit the new fuel lines and regulator now.

Then in the new year I’m planning on taking it for another map to get a bit more power out of it. Still a few jobs to sort before that and a few new items to order...

I'd be interested to see full pics of the finished fuel system, especially where the return line goes. Following this closely.

Do you have a forged engine Matt?
Interesting to see you’re upping the power

Not yet Ben but that is probably the way I’ll go with it. For now I mainly want the map checked and see if we can extract a bit more power from it. It’s within the save zone so would like to take it to around the 300/300 mark.

You do get different opinions regarding what’s safe and what isn’t regarding these engines. Hope yours is a good un:thumb:

Any idea on who you’d get to forge yours Matt? Or is it something you’re capable of yourself?

I’ve been researching different companies for forging mine but prices vary quite a bit and I’m finding it difficult to choose!

I’ll do it myself mate. I’ve built quite a few motors over the years and quite enjoy it. I can also get all the forged components including rods, pistons and uprated valvetrain at good prices.

This was the last engine I restored and built last month. A series engine from a 1968 mini van.
