Gear knobs

is there a after market gear knob that fits the 197? Or will any lift up reverse one fit?

Thanks

Richbrook do a polished one, other than that its the newer RS one or a matt silver Laguna V6 knob.

I am guessing Jim, I haf a look on eBay and Amazon before deciding I will get my original re-trimmed by Royal for £35.

Ive had metal gear knobs before, especially a weighted stainless Storm Motorworx one in my previous BMWs and loved it. But these are a different and metal knobs have their drawbacks of being ice cold in winter and scalding in summer. Also due to the fitment on Renaults I suspect you will have to remove the gearknob fitment from the gear shaft to get any aftermarket knob on.

Ye I had a ep3 with a skunk 2 Weighted gear knob, summer it was to hot and winter was to cold lol I got a hat for it in the end.

If Re trimming is only £35 think that's the best option.

Thanks for the help

Yes bud. I had two prototypes plastic printed - just need to make sure they fit properly before committing to getting the machine shop to make some.

Get a surround for your stereo man :topic: gear knob looks good though, how does it mount??
Haha. It's all getting ripped out soon as it's a track car

It uses the original nylon bushing which the standard knob uses. Once I've had one machined I will make sure it's durable enough without any sort of adhesive or fastener.

Did you go any further with these gear knobs mate??

Yeah.
The one I plastic printing I ended up snapping in half on a trackday :tearsofjoy:

I need to email the lad I use for machined parts see if he can do me one out if nylon 6

If you got a batch of these going you'd sell them all day long, there's no decent solutions out there.

Hi gents
If I can get 10 names, I can get a batch made which will be 30 quid inc 1st class postage.

They'll be made from white or black nylon and will knock on like the standard knob does.
