Ultra Red 200 Cup FF

Headed to a local Cars and Coffee last Sunday. Over the last few years I’ve really fallen out of love of attending car shows and much prefer the laid back, good atmosphere and flexibility of come and go as you please that Cars and Coffee offers!

This one I hadn’t been too before but had heard some great things about! The weather was great last weekend and having attended a local hill climb event on the Saturday I thought I would make it a weekend of car events and head to the Cars and Coffee meet! Some fantastic cars from Lamborghinis, handful of Ferrari’s, stacks of Porsche’s, Lotus’, TVR’s etc! But since we are all a fan of the French round here I thought id share some photos of this compete show stopper! Having popped over these since I was a kid but never seeing one in real life I was really shocked to see this pull in the gates - a stunning R5 Turbo 2. I don’t think I’ve seen something as cool as this in my entire life!

I really wish I had of got to speak to the owner as I’m sure there is a great story behind the car - as a lot of these seem to have! It was completely original and from what I could see on the instrument panel it only had 4,600 miles! Surely to the right person this car is worth £80-90k+?!

Another of my favourites was this TVR, I can remember when I was a kid playing on the PlayStation and if there was a TVR available I had to drive it and it had to have the flip paint! Again, such a cool car;

I too have left a lot of groups in the past week or so. The Mk4 group on Facebook is excellent so that’s where I spend a lot of time. Lots of knowledge on there.
It’s refreshing, doesn’t clog up your feed and you don’t get drawn into the usual nonsense so you end up putting your time and attention to other things.
Where did you manage to source an Akra from in the end?

I find it’s the best way. I might have mentioned it earlier in my thread but there was just too much “willy waving”, cliques and unfriendly members on the Facebook group. Seen too many people get shot down in flames in they didn’t fit with the rest.

The only active page I’m a member of now, oddly, is the Meganesport.net Facebook page lol.

I bought directly from Paul at RS Tuning. I had been asking around if anyone had experience of the Supersprint system as I couldn’t justify stretching to an Akra a second time but also the recent price hike put me off. Luckily Paul private messaged me and offered me one at cheaper than the pre price hike price. I made the mistake of buying an inferior system in the past which I hated so wasn’t going to miss an opportunity or make the same mistake twice!

I must join the Mk4 Facebook page. I have a real love for them now and my work have a stunning (never thought I’d say this) silver 220T demo - really looks the part and is actually a colour I would consider lol.

Ah, gots to love a bargain, even if it is expensive.
You should definitely join, really nice community and very helpful. You’ll definitely learn more about them.
This is the group...

I bought some custom badges (front and rear) for the car. The rear sticker I had applied wasn’t great from day one and because I’m slowly but surely de-chroming my car I opted for these;

I may actually end up changing the front the red lettering with black dots as it may be too “stealth” in its current form!

Hopefully have them fitted tonight :smile:

They look good Eddie. I'd definitely black out all the silver if I had a red one. Always think it looks awesome.

Black diamonds is a touchy subject round here! I had a pair bought but sold them on as I feared the backlash lol

Very nice

Apart from your wheels, I'll happily take them off your hands [emoji6][emoji57][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Not much been happening, just been driving away at the car and headed to a few cars and coffee meets.

I have been putting together a list of things which will be getting an overhaul over the next while.

Including;
• Both rear calipers - paint is bubbling on both and coming off on the n/s so will replace these with new.
• Would like to send the front calipers away for an overhaul and to be painted if anyone knows of someone who does this? Really considering going for the Brembo bronze, something different from the red calipers anyway!
• Slight play in bottom ball joints (surprise surpise!) so will replace these.
• Window seals are beginning to discolour/fade. Not sure if the TFR I was using has caused this but will replace these as I don’t think anything will bring the back to former glory.
• Some winter tyres, probably Rain Sport 3’s.
• Still really want the a front splitter but need more photos of the TRC one to fully decide

I added my custom badges last weekend so here is a couple of pics;

Eddie, these guys did my calipers in Gloss Black. Website has changed a bit but they used to offer three different levels of service depending on how much you wanted to spend, might be worth giving them a buzz, they're a really decent pair of guys.

I reckon bronze with red decals would look amazing on yours.
