-Danman-'s LY 200

I thought it was about time I made a project thread seeing as I've had my 200 for almost 2 years now! But first I thought I'd write a bit of an introduction.

I've always owned Clio's. Before my current Clio 200 I owned an inferno 182, and before that I owned a mk2 1.6 -

I owned the inferno for 3 years and honestly regret selling it at times. I wish I could have kept that and the 200 but in the end I chose the 200 over it. The inferno was pretty well modified in the end. - I've just copied the spec below from my for sale advert:

I'll get started on the 200 information tomorrow, for now, here's a photo of my car when I first picked it up - completely standard with 12k miles on the clock! (Sorry for the long first post!)

Here's a few photos with the old Clio just after I arrived home with the new one -

A few days later I went to my first show with it and just pulling out of my street I see two more yellow cars. I hadn't seen one for weeks and suddenly they're popping up from everywhere! :tearsofjoy:

About a week after this, I had the weekend off from work so went about putting on my number plate and fitting a set of Recaros. (I actually bought these before I had even bought the car!)

It was now the end of the month so I had a drive up to the local monthly clio meet in Newark and had a few photos with another LY 200 which was there -

Seen both cars on various FB groups and look lovely as
Always.. glad you’ve stuck a progress thread up

You came across some seats on ebay and then bought / built a car around them. Thats epic :tonguewink:

12k on the clock; 2 years ago is pretty amazing for one the these. Still low mileage i presume....

Good you've started a thread. Nice example.

Thanks mate, yeah I've just stuck to the Facebook groups over the past few years but thought I'd come back onto a club forum.

Pretty much lmao! :tearsofjoy: I had paid a deposit on the car but couldn't view it for a week or so and found the Recaros in between!

It's not that low anymore, almost on 34k now. Once I've moved house I'll be looking at a daily car so I can keep the Clio as a toy.

I ran mine as a daily for 18 (?) months. Now got use of a daily. Such a good thing in Winter ! Mine's on 41k. Your 34k is still pretty exceptional. Hard balance between enjoying and keeping it good isn't it.......

Honestly, trying to keep it clean over winter is an impossible task with all the driving I do. Up and down the M1 most days so I'll be happy once me and my girlfriend can just get a crappy run about car lol

My next mod was wheel spacers. I bought two sets of Eibach 20mm spacers from a member on here and had a good chat about the cars.

I liked how they bought the wheels out a bit but now it was crying out to be lowered! I had also ordered a cup racer decal set which I started to put on when the weather allowed me to.

Now anyone who knows me, knows I have really bad OCD when it comes to things like stickers or sunstrips etc. So these stripes took me hours to measure up and stick on, right down to the millimetre :tearsofjoy::sweatsmile:

I also transferred a few bits from the old car into this one -

Welcome to the forum, I remember seeing pics of your 182 on Cliosport. Can tell you put a lot of time and money into it! What have you used to secure the breaker bar in the boot as it looks very similar to the halfords one I have.

Love the breaker bar idea ! Trick thinking........

I've got a rear boot net too. Yours looks a better fit and therefore a little tidier. Do you happen to know where it was from ?

Thanks mate, I was sad to see it go, not gonna lie! I'm not sure on the technical name but they're just little C clips that the bar can clip into so they're quite a tight fit.

Yeah I just thought it'd look a little neater and stop it rolling around. Erm I just bought it years ago off CS. net as a clio boot net. Maybe the mk2 ones are slightly smaller?

Cheers.

So that's been swapped over from your MK2 i take it ?

Going to be as hard to find nowadays as a genuine MK3 one i shouldn't wonder....
