#178 from Slovenia

Because I can't edit previous posts, i'm posting the pictures again. A few, not all.

This is above Cortina d'Ampezzo. A the end of a very interesting day, filled with alpine passes.

A bit earlier on Passo Pordoi. Man, the roads are phenomenal.

This pic was made this weekend by a friend. We went to an under construction track that's currently being built here in Slovenia. It'll be the only real track that cars and bikes can properly use. Can't wait for spring to come.

Here's some opposite lock.
My front tires are nearly done, so are front brake pads. Asphalt is a week old and it was wet.

Can't wait to go back there

I had it parked in an underground parking garage under my apartment building. It was locked, I still have both keys, garage is accesible only with a key card. But somehow they still got, broke a window, started it and stole it. There's no real chances I'll se it again.

That's really bad, I can't imagine how gutted you must be feeling... It sounds like they knew what they were doing and had perhaps planned it. There is some real scum in this world.

Oh man that's terrible news. I was just looking through your pictures and was thinking it must be a rare car as I'd never even heard of the special edition. I guess you'll struggle to replace it like for like, so I can understand how gutted you are. Hopefully it'll be found. Have you had any news on it at all?

First of all thank you all for your support. It's a though time for me now, i get really sad whenever i think about the clio. I wanted an RS for a long long time ever since I first got my driving licence. After finishing law school I started to work at a law firm that was quite a long drive from my home, so a comfy diesel was the only option. I moved closer to work about two years ago and that was the time to get something from the RS stable. I enjoyed my clio very much, loved every moment I had it. A remap and intake replacement were planned this year to get some more power out of it, also a trip to Nordschleife and some track days. I regularly took it out for a more spirited drive because we have many nice roads here. So it being stolen is quite a shock for me. It got stolen exactly one year to the day since I took delivery of it. But still it was a nice year, I did trips with other car nuts, took it to a track that was still work in progress, had a trip through Italian Alps, so there's a lot of nice memories.

Monaco GP was a limited series, only 750 were made. Mine was nr. 178. I have a birthday on the 17th of august, so the seventeenth day of eight month - 178. Just a coincidence but nevertheless still a cool fact about the car.

I will not be replacing it for another clio RS or something like this. I was planing to have the car for another two or three years. I have other plans now.

Shit man, real bummer situation. Are Clio's high risk in your part of the world?

Cars are fairly safe here. Renaults and Volkswagens get stolen the most but still there's no high risk. I just have bad luck I guess.

Your story makes it all the sadder that it was stolen - exactly one year after you bought it, that is gutting :worried: That is cruel luck, never mind bad luck.

I have a 2007 clio mk3 1.2 16v courtesy car provided by my insurance company. I die a little every time I start the engine. I went to my home town earlier and the whole trip there and back again I was thinking about my stolen clio, what should I get now etc. I feel really bad even worse I think then a week ago when it was stolen. And when I came back to my garage there was the last gen focus RS parked a few spaces away from mine. Man salt to the wound.

Wow Johnny, really sad to read all this. Hope you're back in something that makes you smile as soon as possible.

Another Reno is out there waiting for you...

I'd go for it but I decided that it's time for other non-car related things. I'd also have a bad feeling as long as I'd live in this apartment building and used the same parking space. The building and parking garage are nice, there are loads of nice cars (porsches, ferraris, top level audis, bmws,...).
I went for a shitbox for a year or two. Ended up with a kia proceed. Not really a shitbox, as I got it in a very nice condition for a very reasonable price at the renault dealer where I bought the RS.

Thanks mate. I hope I'll be able to go for something exciting as soon as possible.

Fun fact. Now I have 1.2 120 BHP facelifted mk4 clio from the dealer for a few days. Consumption in the city is worse than with the RS. I got about 10-11 litres per 100km doing the same routes, i get 11+ with this one.
