Brake servicing

Blimey they are shanked!!

That was the only damaged one, the other 3 were ok. It was intact in the caliper, but obviously damaged since it crumbled like that when I took it out.

Think I'll need to up my cleaning frequency, this is 1 year and 1 month and about 8200 miles since it was last done. The pad was well and truely stuck in the caliper and fell to bits when I took it out....




Im surprise the car wasn't pulling under braking or making loads of noise.

maybe its also weather related.
and i suspect the ferodo pads prone to crack (had that cracks in other car with ferodo only)
mine done service a year ago i think ill service them too .
maybe will get a better braking as a result from the cleaning/lubing .

such a common issue this!

mine always had a yearly strip/clean/lube around april time

I have used the certec lube but found it actually washed off over the year and didn't last as good old copper grease....and before certain people kick off it was used on the metal/metal areas etc

the rears are also a must!!!

does good job but im pretty much sure it also wash before year time ..
tbh its hard for the grease to stay there for much time while car washes and so much heat around that area

around the rubber o rings

As above I use the copper grease where metal touches metal and the silicone grease on the slider pins and pistons. Regardless of mileage this is a 6 month job especially after the winter.

yea mate
i use em also on the pads (which is not exactly metal to metal )since it has a rubber cover at its back(the pads)
