@Gear - plastidip looks great, I like the Matt black! Did you have to do any prep work, or did you just spray it straight on? Very tempted to try this myself with my wheels as the existing paint is just plain ****.

Do you have any experience with the durability of the dip? Is it likely to stone chip off or will it withstand that? Any top coat/lacquer finish, or just 3 coats of the dip? Also, did you spray the back of the wheels, or just the front?

Indeed looks very good!

tempted myself tbh, does it just peel off then if you don't want it?

8 coats blimey lol...

OHHHH I missed the 8 coats bit haha only saw the 3. Must have been fairly light coats though to only use 2 cans for all 4 rims....

And yes my understanding is that it just peels off if you dont want it anymore, without any damage to whatever is underneath. A bit like shrink wrap.

Really tempted to have a bash at it - worst that can happen is I waste half a day and a can of plastidip...

Hi guys sorry for missing your messages

Thanks !
i realy like the matt black my self too. I have no experience doing this kind of thing, i just dived straight in
But i did do look abit on youtube channel called dipyourcar just to know about the product and to get basic knowlage about it.

the nozzles on the cans are of good quality - i had no issue about getting the paint where i wanted it. also i didnt do any masking at all, i just sprayed with a "good motion"
i did 8 layers of all in all - 6 would been enough but i did 2 extra just to be sure

2 cans on all 4 rims - was all it took.
In terms of durability i have no ide, but it is supposed to handle car wash and pressure washer with no issues.

Thanks for the info @Gear

Been chatting to a friend about this today too as I know he did his car last year. Seems like a good alternative to getting my alloys powder coated when take into account over £100 saving for all 4 wheels.

The plasti-dip is a little more expensive than I anticipated though ~£13 per can (eBay), and friend used 3 cans to do 4 wheels (4 coats on the front of the alloy, 2 on the back). Not sure where you bought your's/if you found them any cheaper than that?

Tempted to grab 2 cans and have a go at the front 2 wheels and see how far the cans last. If I can get the fronts done from 1 can, then I've got enough to do the rear as well. If not I can buy another can as required before starting the rears

I bought them at a place called navx.se here in sweden, about 14-15£ / per can. So yeah not super cheap but doable, well worth it imho.
I guess it depends on the size on the wheels how much one need.

going to install the wheels coming weekend, so i i'll be able to tell how they hold up after awhile

Best part is, if you screw it up, u can get rid of it with a "remover"

About peeling, yes they do peel off but you realy need to work on it. So it dosent come off if you dont realy want it to

@Gear

First time i'm seeing a left hand drive car with ITG maxogen. I have some questions, of you don't mind. Did you have any problems installing it? Did you order it from RS Tuning? Is your car remaped?

How do you do the maintenance of this intake?

Hi johnny_k_386

Yes the ITG is from RStuning. Was a breeze to install, First time tinkering under the hood/bonnet for me as well
I have the car remapped from fastchip.nl, but if i had possibility to go to rstuning in leeds that would been my first choice.
i am envious on you guys in UK on that part, there is NO Remap places here in sweden that know Clio/megan sport.. only volvos, bmw/Wv etc

That said, i have only goods things to say about Henk, the kit and hes remap.

i haven't had reason to maintenance the ITG yet, but there is bolts/screws at the side to open it up. I believe there is a cone type of filter inside, then its just a matter of getting a cleaner kit from ITG or anyone supplying them

Hi, I dipped my 197 RB alloys about 8 months ago. I got the spray from: http://shop.cardipuk.co.uk. Really good price. Mine are in dark anthracite. They do a kit with everything you need. Worked out really well. I have a couple of stone chips now but you can use a bit of acetone to re-blend and them resorts with a couple of coats. It's really easy to use. Here's a couple of pics.[emoji106]

Thanks buddy!

I was thinking about the ITG intake for some time now. I guess it will be installed some time next may, because the car is in warranty till then. I have been asking for quite some time around here and some other places if ITG fits to a LHD car. It's great to get information firsthand.

Also, I'm not from UK, I'm from Slovenia. We have quite a few places here that do remaps and there's one guy that uses RS Tuning software which is great. He'll be remaping my car. RS Tuning guys (Paul&co.) actually were in Slovenia a year or two back and did some remaping on all sorts of cars (megane RSs, GTRs, ...).

Man, it looks sick. Not only because of rear wiper delete, but as a whole package. How does lowering the car impact the handling and comfort? Is front camber stock? Also, where did you buy the antenna? I'd love to shorten it. I rarely even use radio, so reception is not a problem. GPS reception on the other hand is something i need. I also love how wheels look massively big when it's lowered.

indeed looks very very nice !

And in hindsight, i rely regret going for the flame red color... that paint is super special and you cant touch it up at all when you get stone chips.
that flame red paint (nnp) is colored in 2 or 3 layers, and the last color (red) is blended in the clear coat.

already had to fill litle bit on the drivers side passanger door, and it stand out like a flashlight.

Thanks guys. I have the opinion that 'less is more', hence the wiper delete and de-badged, stubby aerial etc. the aerial is a richbrook one from Halfords, they probably deliver outside of the UK. It's on KTec racing springs made by Eibach. It has improved the car all round for me, the ride was never biased towards comfort anyway, but I use it daily with no problems. It transforms the look imo. Camber etc are factory settings.

White is easy to keep I must say, not quite as bad as black and easy to touch up. Shines up well too given a good clean.
