#Trophy save the date

When i say MK4, i mean MK4 RS (200T). Which is a different ball game altogether. I see plenty of MK4 Clio's on the road, although someone told me recently the 200T sales were only a few 100?

According to the figures from the DVLA for cars currently taxed/SORN in the UK, there were a total of 457 RS Clio 200t's as of the end of Q3 2014. So not that many really.

Broken down as: lux 359 and standard 98

PS. While there were almost 10k new shape Fiesta ST's (1+2+3) at the end of Q3 2014. So common as muck then :-p (only joking here :poke:).

Even though I don't personally like the Clio200T I do hope that Renault decided to spicy up the existing platform. Recaros, faster gear changes, after market suspension (sachs again possibly), brembo 4pots from the racers and some special colour? Now that would be interesting..

Really don't get everyone's fascination with Brembo.

They're high maintenance and the new set up stops just as good as the old one.

Same with the Recaro seats. Renault must have lost so much money on warranty claims on those things, I'd imagine IF they do go back to Recaro it would need to be a vastly improved seat...which surely would only impact the price?

Thought the Meg ones were half alacantara? Was full leather an option in the new Trophy?

Peter, a Brembo caliper is a much more premium product than a normal 1 (big) pot ultra heavy steel one. Also I wouldn't class them as a high maintenance product (getting the pins out and grease them once per year is not that bad) but yes, they do need more maintenance than a normal caliper.

Brembo is aluminium (better heat dissipation), much lighter and 4 pots as you well know. The initial bite of a normal steel caliper might be absolutely spot on - if not better than the kind of spongy feeling you get with Brembos - but after repeatable stops and abuse the brembo shine over the steel ones. Of course this is why they are fitted on the racers.

Now for someone who does not usually abuse their brakes the above says nothing, but for someone who is about to use the car as intended it plays a significant role.

200T's are everywhere in Sydney. Well priced, sporty and that 5 year unlimited kilometer warranty has broadened the appeal ten fold.

Do you guys think this could just be the official launch of the RS.O1?

My friend has just bought a used Megane 250, it has full leather Recaros along with a leather bench in rear. The new Nismo RS Juke have a half alcantara half leather, I think a Recaro option would be great in the Clio 4 as I don't think the standard seats are very supportive.

Its funny about the brakes too, Renault always stated the brakes on the Clio 4 where better than the old Brembo...then put Brembo on the Cup Racers?

That's cause the cup racer use different hubs and along with there is no current pad that will last 3 laps with the road going caliper

Aye that's why I can't see the any Clio in the future having 4 pots. Anything that will come I would imagine would be bolt on.

The best pad for the 200T so far as aftermarket goes is a DS2500

Fingers crossed AP or Alcon can muster something up.

That being said the OEM setup is pretty good albeit hugely servo assisted

The gordini aint too bad in real life, at 100ft, with your eyes closed. Just a massive disappointment on what it could have been. I feel this is going to be the same.
