Magnet

It may be a stupid question- is there any reason why it is a bad idea to place a magnet onto or inside of the dash or centre console?

Yeah, that is what I'm thinking, but can't actually see why it would interfere with the switches.

Unless the magnet is quite big and I'm thinking door closing magnets here it shouldn't be a problem. I'd think the only problem you could have with a magnet in the dash would be if you put it on top of the CD player an that could interfere with playback.

Other than that I can't think of anything that would be affected by a magnet inside a car, is this for a phone/satnav holder?

Thanks mate, yes I was gonna make sure it was away from the cd player.

Yes it is for my phone, was hoping to find a space behind the centre console to place the magnet but there is not really any room, so it may have to go on the outside. Unless anyone has any ideas?
