How to guide on fitting a stereo?

Replacing the standard single din stereo this weekend and am a complete newbie at audio fitting and such stuff..

Anyone got somewhat of a guide on how to fit one?

Relatively easy. You will need some Kebab skewers to remove the old unit. You stick them in the holes on the side then push them out to the side and pull. It will pop out. Unplug the four plugs in the back, connect them to the adapter/patch lead and then connect it to your new stereo. Check it works before you push it back into the dash!

If you need to buy a lead that will allow you to keep your steering wheel controls I have one for sale for £25. I also have a black stereo surround that fills the gap around the outside.

It's all just very specifically shaped plugs so you can't go wrong with the wires, getting the old one out requires radio keys that you just 'jam' in and it should pull out.

You need to remove the glove box to do it properly and to allow you to tidy the wires away.

Isn't this an arse with the amp being under the seat?!!

ah got the Cabasse like me. The is a plugs are extended behind the autochanger in the dash.

The only problem is the ariel lead needs extending from under the seat back to the dash.

A local shop told me it's a complete pain to do and that it'd involve a lot of wiring from the Renault amplifier to the new cd changer/unit?
