Why you should remove your centre silencer!

Top tip for you lot with no silencer. When on the overrun just rest your foot on the throttle, LOADS more snaps and cracklez. This may affect the MPG tho

In my video it's completely standard. That's just a cold start. After it warms up it quietens down a bit.

I do 50 miles commuting a day about 25 on the motorway and haven't noticed much more drone. It's louder but completely bearable for a daily drive!

My local garage are just ordering a piece of tube in from their exhaust company n will do the chop n swap on fri for £35 including pipe!

I don't think once is gonna kill his engine though guys,it probably got worse when they unloaded it in the docks with 2miles on clock.

Litchy told me that the most powerful standard 197 that ever went on RS Tuning's rolling road was owned by a guy who just gave it hell from day one. I think Litchy's was 193ish standard so it might be the only customer owned one to have ever made 194!

Yeah - normally I let the car warm up before limiter! But once isn't going to hurt

Mine was done by longlife. Tube of stainless clamped in!

Mine was 193.5 standard, I'm sure Litchy's was 196 before Cams.

Not sure to be honest, could do with going back on the rollers but I'd have to find somewhere with the same (Dastek) setup to get any sort of consistency/credibility really. If that figure was correct then I'd hope she'd be not far off the magical 200BHP mark now. That was the better of two runs, one registered 192.?BHP and I think 153.8lbFt and the other run was 193.5BHP and near enough the same torque. The rollers had only been in a week too so I'd like to think they were calibrated well, unfortunately the lad who owns the place turned into a complete penis so I'm reluctant to go back there again.

She could do with a Remap really to make the most of everything now (runs sweetly and definitely got more oomph now) so once the Cambelt is done and the new exhaust (watch this space) is sorted I'll get her back on the rollers for some mappage. I'd like a nice round 200BHP for willy-waving purposes but to be honest I'm not too fussed, chasing figures just gets expensive hahaha!!!

Really can't decide what I think of the noise.

Everybody put the vids up :tongueout:

I think I love the acceleration sounds but not keen on the tinnyish overun

this is exactly why i daren't do it...

i have no cats so thinking of putting a sports cat in at some point before removing the silencer to hopefully stop it sounding to tinny and raspy
