200: End of line limited edition.

Its pretty obvious that Renault won't be doing the end of line special that everyone wants. But what if someone did an unofficial limited run of say 5-10 brand new unregistered 200's that really were special.

Would you buy one if it had the following:

Supercharged
Custom Exhaust
Coilovers
Brake Kit
Recaros
No rear seats, cage
Diff
Lightweight Alloys
and the obligatory numbered plaque

That would be an absolute minimum £27k.

As much as I'd like to say yes, no way could I justify financing such a heavily depreciating asset!

Half way there lol.

It would be if you did it yourself but if the company that did it bought 5 cars and 5 of everything else then it becomes cheaper.

Nope id save 10k and buy a mint R26R - The sane mans choice.

I fail to see why that's the sane mans choice tbh, you'd be getting a brand new proper limited edition car that is hell of a lot quicker than an R26r.

True.

The R26.R aint all that any more. A standard 250 Cup is quicker on a track.

Are you gathering interest levels for a group buy? 8) :tongueout:

Not really thinking about a group buy, the idea came from a conversation with my business partner today about limited runs of car models, not necessarily a Clio that are not done by the manufacturer. There are several companies that do it for all types of cars. Just got me thinking that's all.

Quicker how . ?

Proper limited edition ? The R26R is that ?

Sane in the sense .
-Proven package
-depreciation already happened in the large
-mint examples available for 18k now
-limited edition
-a proven level out of fall in price making it a good buy
-bigger ( more car for the money )
-more tuning option ( engine wise ) as i assume your Sc would be maxed out as it is

love your thinking angel but 26/27/28 grand for something thats never going to be iconic,

focus RS... now your talking!!!

Quicker how . ?

Proper limited edition ? The R26R is that ?

Sane in the sense .
-Proven package - proven but outdated
-depreciation already happened in the large its secondhand
-mint examples available for 18k now outdated, its secondhand and its got no warranty
-limited edition can't deny its a true limited edition unlike Renaults other vain attempts in recent times like the Silverstone for example
-a proven level out of fall in price making it a good buy outdated, its secondhand, no warranty, needs MOT ing
-bigger ( more car for the money ) its got no rear seats so just has a bigger boot
-more tuning option ( engine wise ) as i assume your Sc would be maxed out as it is it would need it to lap faster than a forged charged Clio

There's a few places who do this with second hand cars too mate.

BBR do it with all phases of MX5; Turbo, Brakes, Coilovers. I think it's around £5,500 for a ''as new'' Mk.1 running 185BHP with warranty

Singer do it with all phases of 911; You pick the bodyshell of choice (930 or 964 for me), then spec' any running gear and engine you want right upto the 4.0.

Great idea but as I agree with what Ross said, also on the r26r front, they look like a fat wrinkly smacked arse. 250 Trophy is the sensible mans choice but were not talking sensinble here are we, sod it, where do I sign??
