Supercharged RS200 underway :D

memory dump and start again. problem solved. . . . .. but maybe not . . . . u try getting everything to work again. . . .

Out of interest will you have an on/off switch for the SC similar to the Novidem in the 350z, as I guess running the SC 247 will eat alot more fuel than standard?

Could a real programmer not completely re-write the firmware for an ecu and make it do whatever they please? I bet you could get it to play tetris on the information panel

The supercharger and ecu program will be the same 24/7, why would you want to reduce the power anyway ? And set up correctly it will only uxe more fuel when you use the power, like anything

If you go to a proper live mapping company then that is exactly what they do.

(except the tetris part)

rick is re writing the ECU thats y its costing me 2 grand for him to even start :worried:

yes I know mate. im gutted. but its started so i will finish regardless of cost.

Others on here may question but i think youve done the right thing regarding the ECU mapping. There are too many numpties doing it or too many people who will take your money but worry about how they do it when its too late,

For example if you fudge the mapping up you can subsiquently blow a plug this in turn can melt even a forged piston which can then take a chunk out of your cylinder so that will be a new set of pistons or 1 if you can buy your set individualy the block will need a bore which may not be an option and the mapping is still crap, This is my experince when charging my R32,

I payed £600 the first time, The next company charged £1200 and it was sweet! they also fettled it for free as and when there after they also integrated all the sensors etc so that it would be impossible for the same incident to happen again, You get what you pay for.

2 grand?

I hope that's not for the standard ecu re writing / mapping?

no its for the omex 710 to work alongside the standard ecu. the omex will do all the hard work and have a few fancy features like lauch control, and the renault ecu will run all the things like climate control, headlights, cruise etc etc its very difficult to do this and rick knows what he is doing.

He wrote me a new map for the modified head, high lift cams and injectors no tweekimg required from the moment i drove it out of his workshop it was sweet.

just a thought for everyone saying the standard Clio ECU cannot handle turbo.. what about the 1.2 TCE OK its only a 30bhp increase but still remapped you can get around 45bhp extra out of it and imo that's quit a bit especially for a 1.2 - so yes the clio ECU can handle turbo/sc if its the same (sorry I know this was a few pages back)

keep up the good work woody cant wait to see it!

If he can truely do that, i'll take mine in too.

im assuming you are referring to the massive boom in generic mapping companies.

any idiot with a laptop and a lead can re map a car this way, tbh i think all this "re map" boom has ruined the reputation of proper race management specialists.

for example i had an instance exactly the sdame as what you have just mentioned.

bhp tuner in leeds told me they would live map my car for a reasonable price so i let them, grave error.

i left the car with them, went off to the shop for some ciggys and lucozade and returned. when i returned i found the mapper stood waiting on what appeared to be msn.

i asked how the car was going and had he run it yet, the response i got;

"im waiting for someone to send me a map back over msn"

me;

"your ****ing kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!"

as you can probably guess i was not impressed, i had to have the map installed anyway because he had sent my original map file off for alterations.

so the map was installed and ran on the rollers, it made 8 hp less than it did when it rolled in to the garage!!!!

i was outraged and demanded a re fund as i was appalled at the fact this company claimed this was live mapping!!!!!

i got my money back and booked the car in at chipwizards in rochdale.

best thing i ever did tbh, it turns out msn man had advanced the ignition timing by 9 degrees and not lengthened the injector pulses.

this was a time bomb and wayne at chip wizards said i was very lucky the car hadnt blown up.

rant over anyway, back on topic
