success - changed my polishing product and some wet sanding

Well following on from my previous post about a lack of success with the Megs Mirror Glaze 83 and yellow foam pad Id like to report a massive improvement.

I got some of the new Megs 101 and a purple foam pad from Gaz at CleanMitts in Doncaster.

Just a few passes and the cutting improvement in the 101 was immediately noticeable with many more of the deeper marks coming out.

I also got some 1500, 2000 wet n dry and a 3000 pad to go on the DA.

Ive only used the 2000 and its brought all the kick marks off the sills and the hatch ledge on the rear bumper. Flatted them with the 2000 then hit them with the 3inch purple foam pad and the 101, then the megs 80 and a perfect finish.

Im getting more confident but careful with the wet sanding but the hardness and depth of the clearcoat gives quite a bit of leeway. Its a bit scary when you wipe the panel down after going over it with the wet sanding and just see an opaque finish but rewarding when youve worked the 101 over it to see the paint finish back to showroom finish
