Saxo Vts vs Clio 200

Well the most important thing is that we know the 200 is the much better car despite its straight line performance (which is still good). I know which one I'd have given the choice!

We still can't ask the passengers they are still laughing their heads off, their not the only ones, this thread gets funnier by the post keep it going.

My passengers were more shocked as was i, as said kudos to the little guy in the saxo.

and to your previous reply it wasnt a post mortem at all, i said before i even seen the saxo take off that i thought it was stripped, it had no back headrests, it was sitting high for a vts and didnt even have a backbox on..

Well the result is reasonable taking into consideration the following facts:

-You had 170kgs extra which is about 2 - 3 car lengths difference up to that speed
-You only went up to 70 mph in which case weight really matters and the extra cc we have are not in their full potential against a smaler cc car which will lack power as speeds go up.
-Saxo vts is of course lighter but at least around here you never know real specs of a random saxo vts/106 rallye so there's no real conclusion to be made.

Now as a general note in order for you to take advantage of our car's power you need to shift right before the limiter of course. From a recent test i've done with a 106 rallye at abt 175hp and 1000kg we were dead even from 60kmh to 190kmh and i am 197 original gearing (longer 2nd shorter 4-5-6) stock with no rear seats so around 1220kg.

Sooooo true...

Lol its like seeing myself. This test i described was my UR Clio with a WHITE 106 Rallye and i was on the left side so its exactly the same pattern as yours!!:d

@Yiannis sure am fella, not in any rush hence why its only on here and not Autotrader/PH/Ebay etc.

The cars amazing but its pointless when sat bumper to bumper in traffic. Need the funds also to restore the pending purchase of a 1970s VW Camper

Very good result Raptor! Here is a video of the test i was talking about with the white 106:

I pick my fights very carefully!
I'd rather play 'who can brake latest'. There are very few cars that can beat a Clio at that game!
Off the line, there's a fair few diesel rep mobiles that can out drag the little Clio.
However,

The little Clio can do 0-60mph in 6.8 seconds.
Say the little Saxo can do 7.2 that's 0.4 of a second which equates to a slow reaction time or a bad gear change.

Should never assume something is completely standard what so ever. I had a mate Jenvey TB a Saxo to about 240 I think it was (don't quote me on that)

The thing would rip CTR's and others alike to shred's for fun. The only giveaway was a raised bonnet to allow for better air suction and the fact it sounded like someone had stuck a trombone on the end of their exhaust.

Edit; It was actually featured in French Car Magazine I believe I'll try to find it.

This happened to me against a 320d not that long ago. He pulled over to one side on the dual carriageway as we got past traffic, nailed it from 40 to around 9tee (covering my ass? lol) and we were neck and neck. I was devastated!

Another fine example of this was a friend who bought an old civic, threw a full forged engine with a Garret 28 turbo in it and cranked it up to about 400 bhp. Stripped with nothing but two seats and a steering wheel. This was the year the Bentley Continental came out. 552bhp Twin Turbo that looked the dogs danglies. Going along the M25 cruised up beside him and I gave him the thumbs up as it was at the time a lovely motor. On his mobile he sneered and floored it. At that point my mate dropped it a couple and also floored it. The look on the guys face as we booted past him was PRICELESS and there was me like...

320d's are fast cars, 180+ hp i think!
