Nimbus R27 F1.

I finally put a deposit down on a Clio today:w00t:

Unfortunately in all my excitement i totally forgot to take some pictures while i was there:thumbdown:

Anyway, i am going to collect it tomorrow evening so will get some pics up later in the week.

It's a Nimbus grey R27 F1 21/500.
Full Fat with Cup chassis.
20,000 miles.
Recaro interior.
Cup spoiler.

I am over the moon as i think i got a pretty good deal.

There are a couple of things that need doing, so my plan is -

Cambelt change and service.
Touch up little scuffs to bumpers - Potentially a Chipsaway job.
Replace drivers side wing mirror - Black casing is cracked.
Replace seals on side windows as they have the common perished look - Is this an easy enough job?
Drivers side Recaro is showing signs of wear so i will probably look into replacing the seat cover.
Full paint correction detail.

Once all this has been done i am going to look at a few slight modifications -

200 rear diffuser - From Fernandez.
Carbon Exhaust trims - As above.
Exhaust system - Unsure as yet which one.
Remap.
Suspension - Not sure whether to go the route of Coilovers or whether to go with 30/40 lowering springs.
Possible spacers - Dependant on whether or not i track the car much.
Braided brake lines and Race fluid.

Fingers crossed my money will stretch to all of this:001_rolleyes:

I hope to have this updated regularly and any advice or comments good or bad greatfully accepted.

Cheers all.

Ashley

Recaro starting to wear.

All pretty easy things to sort and a few faint scratches that will be sorted with a full paint correction detail hopefully:thumbup1:

Shall be getting some of the Recaro seat covers that have been advertised on here too if possible.

I will keep this updated as often as possible, Fingers crossed this will all be done pretty quickly too.

Cheers.

Car looks like its got loads of potential. Glad your fixing it up to a good condition. Your plans sound perfect too. A CAZAN diffuser and trims will looks PERFECT!

If your not going to track the car often you can get spacers and just take them off for TD's. Thats what I'll do when I pick mine up (if they really affect the handling that badly, which seems to be personal opinion).

Cheers for the comments guys.
Just went out and gave her a wash while it's dry out.

Found another little part of the rear bumper that will need sorting so may actually price up a respray of the entire bumper to get it back to looking perfect.

I love the 200 rear diffuser and on the Nimbus i think they look amazing so that is a must.

Also going to order some HEKO wind deflectors in a minute, driving around in the rain yesterday reminded me of how annoying it is that these mist up SO much!! Hopefully these will solve the issue (or at least reduce the problem).

Spacers i think will be purchased before christmas sometime, unless i change the wheels and then i'll just go for a mad offset to sort the spacing out:jump1:

Thanks again and keep them coming good or bad.

Ashley.

Oh dear god i have just added about £1500 worth of mods to my plans.

Steering wheel, Gear knob, Gear gaitor and clock surround in Alcantara.
Recaro retrim - Not sure on colour yet.
Interior lights - Easy and cheap - Will order these shortly.

I'm sure the list will continue to grow so i'd best get to work and earn some more commission to pay for it all.

Parts have been arriving slowly but i have a few minor updates on already.
First to arrive were the Heko wind deflectors.

Then came the blue interior LEDs.

Then yesterday i arrived home to these.

So now i find myself looking at more parts to order.
I NEED and exhaust in my life but don't know which one to go for.
I love the sound of the Akrapovic system but can't justify the price tag at the moment:-(
So i've seen the thread on the TDF system but need to hear it before i order (i can't be dealing with something too loud).
Also the K-Tec system.
Does anyone happen to have any videos/sound clips for these?
Or any other recommendations maybe?

Also looking into the suspension, I've read a few reviews and am stuck on whether to just lower on H&R springs or to fit Coilovers.
The car will get tracked but only a few times a year so is it really worth the outlay or are the H&R's a good compromise?

Any comments / replies appreciated.

Ashley

Well after looking at my bank balance and deciding I couldn't wait to lower the car a set of H&R springs were ordered on Saturday morning. Going to lower the car 30mm at the front and 40mm at the rear. After being told they would be with me in 10 days I woke up this morning to find them in my front room:smile:
Just got to wait til next week when I can get a day off to get them fitted now:worried:

It's sooo depressing:-(
Was hoping my local garage would have done it today for me but he was rammed lol.
Gonna book a day off work now and get it done ASAP;-)
