intake length?

does anyone know if altering the length of yr intake pipe after the filter has any effect on performance,i've just shortened the length of my maxogen intake with a samco 90 degree hose and it seems to bring the mid range torque in earlier? the car seems more aggresive! or is it in my head! its a very easy switch back if its not a good thing,cheers.

Generally, a longer intake produces more torque although too long an intake can reduce it.

Sure I've read that somewhere...
