Center Box Replacement with straight pipe - Birmingham Area - **Vid!!!**

Don't do it the flat spots are to big unless you have a remap and that's going to cost more just de cat it and that will give you plenty more power and sound

Sounds good that Taylor!!!

The flat spot is around 2000-2500RPM on the 197, not sure where it is on the 200 but I assume it's around the same area?

I don't think it's THAT much worse to be honest. A remap would go some way to curing it yeah, but the car has an inherent flat spot there from the factory. It is slighlty more noticeable now... I.E;, if you're doing 30 in 4th and boot it the car does bog a little before it picks up. But in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and under normal driving conditions I can't say it's that much worse than it is from the factory. I actually think that everything feels a bit free-er (is that a word), I haven't noticed any real gains in performance (I don't think the Clio is particularly sluggish as standard anyway) but it'd be intersting to see if BHP/Torque figures have been affected.

With the money you save over a cat-back, get it remapped...

And a decat will almost definately result in a loss of Torque anyway and only a minimal increase in noise and BHP on an NA engine.

And without a remap there'd still be the factory flatspot. I wouldn't have thought that the OEM cat is that restrictive anyway...

Had mine done today at torque flow, thanks deako for the directions didnt warn me about those potholes though lol, again same as everyone one this is a mod you HAVE to do I'm in love, been to see my mate who has a k-tec pro performance and he was like WOW!! will put my vid up shortly

I heard a K-Tec for the first time today and it did sound bloody good, but I don't think it was quite as loud or as raspy as how mine's ended up.

Woohoo, more vids!!!

Deako, how does yours sound when you let the revs come down on their own? Say if you boot it in 2nd or 3rd and then lift off, does it crackle it's way back down the revs? Has it changed at all now you've had the chance to put some miles through it? I love it, such a great mod' for what you get. I can't see my V-Power lasting very long now though, I jsut want to be out blasting around all the time hahaha!!!

does anyone now the official DB limit now of the car?! Hope its ok for Silverstone still! Just been out again for a blast! Its epic, but if you want to drive it normally it doest p**s me off! Which is good! Only had a few pops and bangs though, I guess it will loosen up more, if anyone down south wants it done Janspeed all the way! A bit pricey but there good!

you've only had a few pops and bangs?? i have them nearly every gear change apart from like 5th to 6th lol!

It's louder but havnt hadany pops no?! Sounds really nice thou, if you watch the second videos I posted your hear that it doesn't really pop?!....

It won't pop and sound ''POP'' like an Evo or Impreza... It's more of a crackle on the Clio. If you listen carefully, you'll notice that it pops from both tailpipes but there's a split second between the pops so it comes out as a mad crackling noise. It's ace, can't stop driving her now and I didn't exaclty need an excuse or much encouragment to begin with hahaha!!!

Even on light load 3500RPM changes mine will pop 1st-2nd, 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th. Has done it once going 4th-5th on the motorway sliproad.

Coming back down through the revs and the gears is just audio porn.

Sounds nice Rocko.
