197 Insurance

Hi everyone, sorry if this thread is in the wrong section but couldn't find a dedicated insurance one.

I've seen a clio 197 I want to go ahead and buy but I'm wondering if there is any dedicated/specialist insurers you members use?

Also from previous membership on a corsa forum there was discounts on adrian flux insurance for being a fully paid member, is this same on here?

If people could shed some light on this would be very grateful

Thanks

Carl

Sign up as a ''Paid'' member on here, it'll cost you £5.

Once you've done that both Sky and Greenlight will be able to give you a discount.

I'm with Greenlight, top to deal with and really good price. Sky were unable to match their price but have bettered Greenlight for others on here so give them both a ring and see who works out the best. Can't fault the customer service from Sky to be fair, they just couldn't get the quote down to what Greenlight could for me.

Thanks buddy ... I've just been on greenlights website and they gave me a great quote so with paid membership I would get discount too? .. Will have to ring them and sky up.

No worries!!!

Yeah you'll get the discount as a Paid member, you'll save more than the £5 it'll cost you put it that way hahaha!!! Also, they'll upgrade your membership to ''Gold'' status for the length of your policy which I think is a nice touch. They also offer trackday cover at £50 per day if you're planning any trackdays, but make sure you read the Ts&Cs of that if you decide to do any.

Greenlights benefits work differently to Sky's. The £5 to become a paid member entitles you to a "slight" forum discount with Sky.

However, should you purchase insurance through Greenlight and mentioned to the person on the phone that you are a member of Clio197.net, they will upgrade your membership to a gold member (A membership that'd cost you £20 every 2 years).

Greenlight are brand new tbh. Both our cars are covered by them and have been for a good few years now.

from corsa c uk? me too

I am indeed

Getting quotes around £2000 from everyone but online quotes with greenlight and sky are coming back at around £1000 but cant phone them

Why so expensive with 3 years NCB and 3 years experience (almost 4 of each) ... always been on my own policy with a good postcode :worried:

Yeah but you are still the main driver (Policy holder) even if you have others on your policy.

They dont need to actually drive the car, its essentially a free discount for just sticking their name on the paperwork.

now this i didnt know, if im the main driver than thats ideal for what i would like as i need the NCB like most do until 25, i will see if i can do this but still need to contact sky and greenlight on monday

sadly my other half has only been driving 18 month with 1 years NCB and it doesnt make a difference apart from a stubborn rise :worried:

Try a family member with good credentials... Was going to put my dad on but he got done for goig through a red light lol :swear: took it up £300

Just done admiral which majority have great success with and i got quoted just short of £3000 fully comp :O no chance, now onto elephant then sky and greenlight on monday

Carl, how many years no claims did you say you had?

I had a weird situation where putting 3 years no claims was MORE than putting 2 years...

Worth a go?

Mike, i am 21 and have 3 years NCB and 3 1/2 years experience all on my own policies.

These quotes im getting from well known car insurers are ridiculous, £2000-3000 fully comp
