What you had done by your dealer under warranty?

Has anyone had wear (like a bobling) on a standard seat?

Mine is starting to wear and Im not happy about it....its only a very small area but still shouldn't be wearing like that :worried:

yes mine is - nearly every 197 i have looked at has some wear on the standard seats :crying:

i got that on my passenger one, i asked for it to be done and they said no. I have had the throttlebody changed on warranty, and the door pillar / rear window seals, but the drivers one didn't stick properly, and just flapping around.

Its rubbish....I had a FieSTa before hand and the seats showed no wear at all, unfortunately the Clio's are not the best and I feel a rage in a dealership will be coming!!!

Whats the deal with the dropping glovebox?

Mines been like it since i bought it, but never really cared enough to get it sorted. But with only a year left on my warranty i want to get it sorted.

Will also be getting the B pillar seal replaced too.

Only thing I've had changed was a ripped seat belt. I actually bought the car with it from them and never noticed. Was hassle free and done within the hour.

Update on my vibration problem,

I have had my car in the dealers on about 4 occasions for a vibration coming through the accelerator pedal, first of all they said there’s nothing wrong, then one guy even said it’s your tyre, which have now been changed, but I knew it wasn’t that anyway. But now I have the technical expert on my car and he replaced a wheel bearing which did reduce it by about 60%, but did say when I got it back that it wasn’t 100% sorted, and that I should take the car in again the following week, so I did that and they have checked everything they can think of and cannot pin point the problem, so they has suggested that I drive it until it gets worse... They say it’s perfectly safe, but it’s doing my head in, it's seems worse on smooth surfaces too.

Any1 got a similar problem? Any idea’s what could be causing it?

Cheers guys!

My glovebox is the same, slightly slanted with a gap on the right hand side of it. Didn't realise the dealers would sort this? Might get it done just because it bugs me everytime I'm sat in the car!

When i bought the car the glovebox was slanted...they replaced it for me. Now the new one is doing it :worried:

Steering column intermediate Shaft
The ECU patch that doesn't work

Yet to go in for:

Door seals
Rusty subframe
Clicky clutch pedal
Clunking belt buckle
Shagged fastest speed intermediate wipe
Slightly dicky HU
Clonking from front left on take up with increasingly vague steering

And what I've never had done:

Recaros seat wear - 18k and no sign of wear

So far after a year of hard abuse and commuting;

Nothing. The car as of yet is faultless even with 15% more power running through it and some very hard weekends.

Only thing i've replaced is the black screws behind fuel flap for ss as the others were rusting???

The Trophy on the other hand, the garage number on speed dial:smiley:

I've been to see my local stealer, Hylton Cheltenham, over 2 weeks ago for same reason above, black screws under the fuel flap were rusting, but also to get the drivers side Recaro changed as this is wearing now and the cars only just over 1 year old and 11k on the clock.
The dealer said they would send the pics they took to cs and let me know the outcome.

Not heard anything back, surprise surprise, so I'll be calling CS myself now.

And with regards to the Kangaroo effect, I've read the 200 doesn't have this problem, yet surely its the same engine etc just a few minor differences?

Think the 200 has a reworked head, fully adjustable intake cam and surely a new engine management programme iirc

197 has fully variable vvt

200 has a tweeked head

as for everything else - its done by the ecu programmers these days

WHats the 'weird noise' you had?

I've noticed when I push the start button I get a sort of electrical 'ding' noise?? Hard to explain - like the noise on a plane when the fasten seatbelts light comes on....:001_unsure:

Owned mine for seven months now and can't really report anything to complain about. Mine has just done 12k from new (29 months old) and the seats haven't worn. I suppose a lot of it depends on what the seat fabric comes into contact with on a regular basis. I wear a suit for work which I don't think will cause much wear - but if, say, denim or something like that is rubbing against the fabric all the time then it's more likely to accelerate the wear.

The only thing that I do get is slight kangarooing but it's not bad enough to make a special trip to the dealer.

I guess (so far) I've been lucky so can't complain. I've had a few VW's in the past (2 of them bought new) and they were both regular vistors to the dealer.
