I'm wondering as it is playing on my mind and I know no two cars are the same but I'm worried about mine at Bedford it was at 97db but since then it's had the de-cat fitted personally I think it's quieter but still..

I'm running a non res pms system with the toyo decat is anybody else running a similar set up ??

Well you heard mine, Scorpion resonated with decat and standard manifold, 96dB...reluctant to do anything with the manifold as much as I'd like a Toyo...

I've just read on the pms website it says with the non res system and there manifold which is fully de carted it will be 98db at 4500 but still interested in more readings.

Akrapovic full system, KTR induction, cold October morning at Thruxton but well warmed up and increased revs very slowly

I think the chap said 77! I repeated it to him and there was no response, so guess it was 87; either way, win

Don't know the drive by dB; a previous car I had with high flow cats passed static but failed drive by at Bedford & Brands

This setup sounds amazing; you probably know that already! It's fine as a daily driver; quiet on low throttle & drone-free

Probably get booted off Bedford tbh with a decat mani, decat system and non-res!

I run an R3 manifold and Akrapovic and got booted off. Static was like 93 or something :worried:

I used to run with the R3 and fully decated and non-res Supersprint, that thing was 97dB static iirc, and was insanely loud! That one got me booted off at Combe and they don't even have drive-by meters!

Well think might just have to get the mid box I had been thinking I was going to but will have to get it come March..

all depends how loud the rear setup is on the PMS I guess, but yeah given my experience with the Akra (which is by and large considered one of the quieter systems I believe), then I would say at least a centre silencer and potentially a sports cat too even. As I can't see my R3 manifold being substantially different noise levels to a Toyo - I think the nature of them both being tubular and pre-cat delete's they must be similar enough in that regard.

When I was there in November I had the pms system however I hadn't fitted the manifold yet and it was fine. So hopefully the box would the equivalent to the pre cat

Standard manifold, Cobra resonated cat back plus Cobra sports cat 88db at Castle Combe beginning of November.

I've got a maplins db tester and it was the old 15£ one and not massively convinced it's right. However today I used it and got a reading of 110-105db so will defiantly need a new midbox before the track days..

just a non res milltek on mine was 99db at bedford... got a stainless manifold as well now so going to check out what it reads at brands who have a 105db limit

Standing it's 80,5 dB (A) @ 3750 rpm measured at 45° half a meter away with an Akra Evo (no decat; just center resonator and exhaust). In the papers it's listed with 77 dB and we've an officially allowed tolerance of 5 dB on that over here.

Sidenote: The new Hyundai i30N is listed with an unbelievable 109 dB. I don't know how they managed to get that approved. This is just insane!

Now THAT is interesting! I'd thought of the i30N as a possible future car, but if it's going to be a problem at track days it's a definite no no!

Like said in this thread it already comes with a fold/valve exhaust. In race mode the "flap" is always open but I assume you can close it in custom mode. So this shouldn't be that much of a problem. The question is if there's any difference in power output between opened and closed which could be the case.

A couple off weeks ago i did a trackday at zolder where the db limit is 95db and there where 2 i30N's driving, they had no probem with the db limit and they pops and bangs like crazy, nice cars they are.
