Visible inner tie rod play, but drives fine?!?

As above really. With the drivers wheel off the ground I can turn the wheel in/ out a couple of mill and it looks like the movement is on the inner end of the tie rod.

Any ideas why it doesn't wander all over the place whilst driving?

the drive torque will probably be keeping it from showing up and the play/wear only when not moving will it show up...

mine was the same for nearly 2yrs and i finally replaced the steering arm - still drove the same
