Tyre Size

I currently have 215 45 17 tyres on. I have seen some of the members on here put 225 45 17 tyres on.

What's this better option?

Im running 225/45/17 595 rsr's
Sidewalls are a little bigger than standard but tghe 225's as they are a more standard size are a little cheaper

I have 225/45/17 bridgestone potenza re070 and it's great

Am I the only person to have tramlining issues with this tyre?

Fantastic tyre when you're on the bends, but takes some getting used to on a straight bumpy road.

Id stick with 215. I had 225 and it didnt feel as tight. And track tyres look like 225's any way. They look more square on the tyre because of the stiffer sidewalls. I run OZ 8j wheels and 215 888's and NS2r's look spot on.

Right I am going to stick with the 215 45 17 set up and will be going for the Road Legal Track Tyres

My understanding after searching on her it is a choice of:

Toyo R888
Federal 595RSR
Nankang NS-2R
Yokahama AD08
Kumho V70A

I know it is personal preference but what gives the most grip whilst staying sensibly priced?

I use 215 on the road and 225 on the track

The 225 definitely tramline more on the road but they do turn in better and obviously have more grip.

on the track they're much better but in the road I would stick with 215 personally

Any one any pics with a 245-45-17 on a rim ?
I can have a set of R888's for Bedford if thats the case,
my mates just blown his impreza,
no issues with them rubbing in the arches ??

From what I remember the imprezza uses 225/45/17.

Ive still got 225s fitted to mine so I'll get a few photos tomorrow if I have time.

The RE070s I run during the summer only come in 2 sizes: 225/45R17 and 235/45R17. They were were OE fit to Imprezas.
