Tyre Pressures

I've always used to recommended pressures from the handbook but my front tyres seem to be worn much more in the centre suggesting pressure is too high???

What pressure does everyone use?

Should I just lower the pressure a bit if they're wearing more in the middle?

drop it 1 - 2 PSI mate. are they contis?

Yep, sport contact 3s with reinforced sidewalls

i found the contis wore really quickly on mine . . . swapped to michelin and theyve last aaaaagggggges.

I don't think I run mine that high, maybe a few psi less. Conti's do wear heavy though, I found that out on my old 1.2 when the front tyres lasted 10k! Shocking!

Cheers guys, I was getting ready to replace the contis but double checked today and realised they're only worn in the middle with plenty left on the sides. Maybe I have a dodgy tyre pump or something.

Going to put michelin pilot sport 3s on next, prefered the michelin exaltos on my old fiesta to the contis

The Pe2's cost a fortune compared to the contis and they're not cheap. I don't think they're any better than the conti 3s tba. On my 182 I ran the front exalto's off in about 10k miles.

you need to find out how accurate the pressure guage is you are using - it could be under reading so that in effect you are putting more air in than needed....easily done with some of the forecourt equipment !

get a bluepoint/snap-on one off ebay for about £12.

for what its worth mine are 34 in the front and 32 in the rear. Any less and it feels to loose for me. Done 10K and no issurs with ware yet.
