I've not tried it so this isn't from experience but I think it would just stop keyless entry working as well as keyless start. So the card would need to be in the slot each time. My battery died recently in the card and this was the result too.

Correct, well it was for me. Card in reader will still start the engine. You can however still the lock the doors, by locking the drivers from the inside and locking the car with the conventional key from the passenger side. Well that worked for me.

Potentially next week Carl! Need to take the current motor out first then get it ready for this. Will give you a shout.

T'was thrashed within an inch of its life!
Bloody solid engine that, pulled like a train. It'll be missed but glad it's going to a good home to be used properly.

Got the new motor ready to go in and started the strip down to remove the old motor.



Hoping to find the time next week to take it out.

I've also ordered a load of heat shielding materials.

Yeah has cleaned up well and just a little paint made a difference.

The 4th is the aim still. I have a few jobs to do on it besides the engine swap. Before it gets fitted I want to have the subframe shot blasted and powder coated too then all new bushes too. It makes sense to do it now.

I haven't forgotten them DS1.11 by the way. Funds are allocated to something else at the minute

But more progress this evening. I have stripped the rear loom down and removed all the old unnecessary connectors which are now obsolete.

And now refitted with clips. It's coming together slowly!

Finished off the interior tonight so can now focus on the engine swap over the weekend.
New carbon door cards all fitted up.

Bit more progress today. Managed to take the motor out. A few issues like the hub nuts been overtightened by the guys who fitted the gearbox and a stuck driveshaft but otherwise all done.



Just need to clean it all up now and fit the heat shielding etc which I will do tomorrow.

Also planning on sending the gearbox for a check over next week before fitting.
