Top Mounts - OEM and alternatives

I'm looking to change the front dampers on my 197, as they look more than a bit past it. It makes sense to do the top mounts at the same time obviously, so I was wondering what people's experiences are? It's a road car and I will be fitting new OEM dampers, so I don't think anything adjustable is really necessary.

They're about £43 from RPD at the moment, but I was just wondering if there are any other options out there? These things are usually made by someone else and put in a Renault box so, before I buy from RPD, is there somewhere where I could get something as good for less?

All this furlough business means I'm not as flush as I would like to be, so any savings would be a bonus at the moment!

OEM top mounts are made by TRW mate. Though I'm not sure whereabouts you can get them cheaper as I've never really looked!

Can get em for a little bit less on eBay. For the price difference it’s worth just getting the genuine ones imo.
They’re nice bits of kit, and given the discounts on the shocks RPD have at the mo, it’s a no brainer.

It's the price of the shocks that's annoying me lol. A damper is way more complicated than a top mount, so I don't like that the top mounts are almost as expensive lol

If you look at your genuine shock you will see KYB stamped on it and they can sell kits with the top mount and bearing but also the top mount by itself I bought a SKF kit both top mounts with bearings cost about £60 at the time. I found a place in Poland I bought 3 genuine springs 2 x 197 blue green and 1 x 197 cup blue orange the whole thing £125 delivered I'm all for supporting Renault Parts Direct and genuine parts but I'm not happy with Renault Parts direct I am in Northern Ireland and while main land members get free postage they will not give us here even discounted postage I did ask them what they could do the response was basically hard luck so be aware other places are available I will buy stuff from them but only when it makes sense the postage from Poland DPD was the same or cheaper than RPD.

Well I suppose that is one way to think about it.
As above though, the price difference isn’t even worth being bothered about for the aftermarket top mounts
