Me again. Just talking to myself
.
Pretty sure I left off saying it was nearly there. I was kinda right & wrong at the same time...
Exhaust felt like my biggest hurdle however *Spoiler alert: It wasn't!*.
A friend of mine kindly offered to help out and make me a link pipe using the one I got with the conversion, the sports cat I had fitted to the 197 when I initially got it and a couple of 3 bolt flanges(I really hate those crappy ones that come on the 197 exhausts
). First issue was partially my fault being as I didn't actually check, just assumed. The Link pipe given to me was 2.25" not the 2.5" I had expected
. Never mind, we managed to sort something out with a couple of sleeves and a good bit of welding that will do for now and I'll beg them to make me a proper 3" one up as soon as its on the road properly
.
So time frame wise, that was just before the New Year & it didn't get fitted until almost half way through Jan
. Initial start up was perfect, no hesitation, no odd noises just a little missfire. Changed out the offending coilpack and she was fine.
THEN THE ISSUES CAME.

Yup a whole host of faults and limp mode hurray!
Did some fault finding(to the best of my ability/tools) and all it was throwing was a Map sensor issue. So put a new one of them in and still the same except this time no codes stored. After a few conversations of head scratching and googling, coming up with nothing I admitted defeat and decided to abuse
@adam thomas some more by stealing his garage to just hide it out the way until I have more time to focus on it.
Fast forward a couple of days and some detective work by Adam it's apparent that the loom is at fault, Fired off a message to the guy who made the loom for me and he kindly offered to come down and have a look and sort it out.
Within half an hour it was running like a champ, It was just one of those things, no dramas but I can't thank the guy enough! I had a little dance and a quick test drive, it goes pretty well, I have no idea if its mapped or not so I'm going to say its just stock power at the moment but its definitely more my cup of tea over the N/A set up. Few bits to button back up still, then put some miles on it I guess
.
