Hello everyone,
I have been wondering since i got my car, what is the workimg temp of 197? Mine is at 65 degrees centigrade on highway, seems to me lile thermostat is not working( fully open).

We had this discussion in our German forums not that long ago. From what I got the standard thermostat is opening at 75°C. Some people have switched to other original Renault ones with 83 or 90 degrees.

Here are the part numbers for the respective thermostats:

Wow, thaks. I am worried that low temp will overfuel the engine and wash the liners. I get to 95 when standing i guess that is when fan starts.

Should sit on or just under the third line on the temp gauge. If it goes down when you're driving and back up at stand still, you have a failed thermostat and need to replace. it's a simple job, ~30 minutes at most.

FYI - buy a genuine one to avoid fitting an incorrect stat!!!
