You say that, the GT86 is 12.5:1, and there are a variety of setups (turbo and supercharged) on the market, namely Fensport (using the Avo turbo kit) and Lichfield (supercharged). However, the GT86 is direct injection so you can get away with a bit more. I think it'd take a good quality standalone first mind, also the 'few' psi that you could maybe run might not outweigh the parasitic losses.
Forging isn't cheap mate, it's not just Pistons and rods. When supercharging you 100% want to uprated the valves, I found out the hard way, with Fernandez as a passenger, a **** map didn't help but you don't wanna pay 2k like I did when it could be done for less than half with a forge build.
Def agree there with that, for £450 or whatever it costs for the valves are worth doing. I did a bit of research and found a number failures with the crappy 2-piece valves. No point risking mangling everything for the relative small extra outlay.
