Sump guard/engine under tray

When I was fitting lower engine mount inserts I noticed I didn't have the plastic sump guard/engine under tray (unsure on its actual name).

It's the plastic bit that covers the bottom of the engine.

Question is, is it necessary to have one? Seen a few posts on another forum saying they're a bit useless, however I couldn't help but notice it leaves the bottom of the Cambelt very slightly exposed to potential stones flying in?

Does anybody know the part number of this item, couldn't find anything online after a quick search.

Cheers,
Dale
