Subframe alignment

Hi,

I have had my subframe off the car to get the gearbox out, I have got the car back together and have just realised the front right wheel is sitting forward in the arch.

I’m reading lots about the Subframe’s not necessarily sitting square? Is this something easily rectified?

I also fitted powerflex bushes to the lower arms and the inserts are drilled offset could these be causing the issue at all? I fitted them with the hole at its most inward point but not sure if they would move with the front bush that gets adjusted or not....

All help much appreciated thank you.

James

Im pretty sure the subframe has a notch either side towards to back of the car so adjustment is minimal. Worth loosening the bolts and pressing it back towards the back of the car. Like you say i think there is a little adjustment in the lower arms

Okay thanks the wheel is a rather long way out but I guess a small amount on the bolt that far away should make a large difference..... I hope!

No the 200 is my first clio

Chances are you’ve put a wishbone Bush in wrong, there is very little movement in the subframe mounting points, mm, certainly not an amount you’d notice, especially if it was correct before, easy in hind sight, but... do one job at a time then if something’s off you know what it is

Also the bushes are known for moving whilst fitted, keep an eye on them, were you going to get the camber set up correctly? They seem a bit gimmicky and uncontrollable being honest, but the potential to throw camber and caster way out with very little adjustment (or take the arms off while doing tracking and adjust but would take hours!!)

I’m waiting on a few bits to arrive today then will be going for a decent alignment but won’t be till I’ve sorted this.

The bushes are fitted the same both sides as did them together so I’d assume if something was wrong there both sides to be showing an issue....

Are the inserts in the bushes meant to just hold from the pressure of the bolt through them?
