This was my thinking, I think you have missed this bit:

It's the red connector that goes to the battery on the left hand side, many people don't realise there is a fuse in there, check that.

But you said you've sold it now? If so none of this matters lol.

Sold it he’s coming to tow away tomorrow but he’s a close friend so trying to make it easier for him

Hi everyone, I’m new to the group and I am I new owner of Michael’s 197, I’ve been doing some tinkering today, we have no fuel gauge when ignition is on, when being towed on a bar today the speedo didn’t move, is that right? Can’t hear the fuel pump priming either, I have checked the red connector on the battery and every fuse I can find, I’ve added a new earth from the negative to the block but no joy, tomorrow I will have her up and check the heat shield over starter, is there anything else I’m missing?

UPDATE*** sent steering lock off to be read and coded to a new one, new one plugged in and started, was that all along
