Starter motor heatshield

Hi i fitted a toyosport manifold yesterday and realised when all put back together id forgot to fit the heatshield that covers the startor. Should i take it apart again to fit or bin it? Thanks

i would refit fit it...it stops the heat getting to the starter bearings etc

Yeah was thinking the same. I will get it back on this week

I couldn't fit mine on with a toyosport - the manifold was too close.

Had some manifold heat blanket spare so wrapped the starter motor in that.

Got to say with the above I fitted the manifold first then realised about the starter cover and tried to fit it with the manifold on.

If the cover was in place before fitting the manifold I think it would be ok. Although I did read a post on here that someone had got a garage to fit their manifold and they left the cover off as they said it was fouling the manifold.

I had it on the ramp today and as said above there isnt enough room for the heatshield due to the manifold. I think it should be ok without.
