Squeaking. . . Clutch related?

Basically, noticed in in recent days that the 197 has been making a squeaking noise when idling. Almost like a belt whirring/squeaking. Until tonight, I related the fact that when I depress the clutch pedal the squeaking completely stops...

What could this be related too? Anyone else had these symptoms.

Not on a 197, but i've done a fair few. It's a gearbox off job, so not a 5 minute fix i'm afraid. Nothing hugely difficult, but time consuming.

Sounds like release bearing to me as well. Might as well change the clutch whilst the box is off as well.

Yep, deffo change the clutch whilst there! Would be a right b*stard if you did the bearing and then 2 months later the clutch went!
