Spoiled her with a wash

Got my car back Friday after a long 3 and half weeks of sitting in Renault waiting for a new gearbox to arrive. New box feels so much better  Renault phoned me to tell me my car was ready to be collected and told me it had a full valet. They must of washed it with dirty water bcas it looked awful. So I gave her a wash wen I got home. Would defo recommend DiamondBrite to everyone. No need to polish ever again and always comes up gleaming.

Nice looking car  Was the gearbox all sorted under warranty then? I'd be climbing the walls having to wait that long for my car back

Thanks. Yep not paid a penny but had a lot of agro with it, as it was out of manufacturers warranty but I purchased from another main dealership (I'm assuming the Clio was part ex'ed for summit else) so luckily had 1year used sales warranty  but they wanted my authorisation to strip box down and engineer had to write a report as to why the box broke. If I was to blame i.e drivers error, bad gear changes and all the other crap they tried bcas I'm a chick then I would have had to pay! Renault UK did assure me they would offer 50% if needed bcas of the age and low mileage (23k) on the car, which gave me sum relief. Just glad she's back  I have missed driving it so much. Pretty pi**ed off with the Renault garage aswell as they damaged my car but are denying it by using the excuse "it's been up on a ramp the whole time it's been here." Funny how the damage corresponds with wot looks like my drivers door being opened against the ramp supports.

Is that a law? One year used sale warranty?

Not from what I remember. As far as I remember you have a short time after buying from a dealer to report any problems that wouldn't be expected based on the age of the car. Not sure how long it is but I don't recall it being a year.

If you've taken out or been supplied with a warranty by the dealer then this shouldn't be a problem.

It all depends where u get the car from I got mine from a main dealership so I had a year. If you get a car thru a private dealership I think u get about 3-6months they all vary slightly. Warranty covers everything except friction parts so clutch and brake pads aren't covered neither are rubber hoses. Few months back my rear callipers seized on, as a result of this my pads burnt out. They told me the callipers were covered under warranty but I would have to pay for the new pads. I kicked up abit of a fuss and got the lot paid for. All depends how much fuss u kick up. If I didn't know about cars then I wouldn't of argued my point they just assume girls know nothing about cars haha

Renault dealerships give you a full years warrenty on the car when you buy from them. My 60 plate had a similar issue and it's all been sorted for nothing via the warrenty
