Spark plugs

So I had the spark plugs changed in search of trying to find the problem in my car... (the car does not seem to be logging faults even though the engine management light is coming on).

My question is do these spark plugs look like they have had a hard life? Also note that one of the plug ends is bent especially close to the tip of the plug... could this have been causing any problems?

questions and comments?

I have no idea! I'm going to check the last 3 services I'd had to see if they where changed in any of them.. I just cant see the car struggling because of these.. but yet the mechanic said that they where "done"

They would but had mine done after 4 years and they were done but like I say they don't look that bad but I'm no expert

oh well does not matter the car is still randomly struggling.. the guy said it needs to run to clear out any crap... there are no Renaultsport specialists in northern Ireland which is a pain in the arse :worried:

Mine looked the same as that at 36 k I xhanged them last week . seem a slight improvement in cold start but nothing drastic

poorly gapped plugs can cause all sorts of running issues

i bet its had the plugs changed and one of them has been dropped and not re-gapped and put in the engine......very poor standard of servicing!!!!

If that had happened would it not have been visible more quickly? Also the fact I'm missing the airbox lid could this be part of the problem? Could it be over or under fueling because of air mixture at low RPM? I had the clunking sound again at the lights tonight just after the car stalled :worried: after about 10 seconds it went away and I had full power back again..

the plugs look ok - but thats more to do with heat range etc

they arent black so not too much fuel and not too pale/glazed being too weak as such

cant see why the air box lid missing is an issue

have you checked the throttle body/inlet to make sure its not choked up with oil/carbon

also worth taking out the tdc sensor and giving it a clean

I'll check the TB - can you use break cleaner to clean it (take it off obviously) or is there some type of cleaner which is better suited?

Do you have any documentation on the TDC sensor? e.g what socket do I need to take it out etc. cheers fox

brake cleaner is good

tdc - access from underneath - front of gearbox low down - think its held by a 10mm bolt - need to remove under tray
