Sound proofing and audio help

Hi all,

I get quite a bit of vibration from my front speakers in my 197.

I have replaced the speakers but only with halfords £30 Alpine things and i still use the standard head unit (update list).

Will buying some sound proofing help? If so where exactly should i apply it? Just around the speaker?

It's not vibration from something under the speakers in the door card is it? I had this and it was driving me mental xD

You can buy so things that look like ash trays that sot behind the speaker, but I'm not sure where you would get them from and iirc they're dear. I saw an ad for them a while back.

In my old Clio I cut some foam up and fitted it behind the screws which helped.

I have had this on occasion, only when it is turned up though. Sounds like vibration of the cover on mine, if i put my hand on it the noise stops immediately. Might be a case of popping the grill off and reseating it...

Some insulation in the door card wouldn't go amiss if you do like your sound quality though!

I would also get some sound deadening and place a bit behind the speaker area (on the inside of the outer door skin) A good method is to tap panels with your knuckle to see if they buzz. If they do, use some deadening and here the difference afterwards. The panels should thud then
