Snow Foam Kit

Ive been toying with the idea of getting a snow foam kit (autobrite hd) for my karcher k2 and just wanted to know if they are all they crack up to be.

Do people use them every time they wash there car, or are they a ball ache to set up?
Do they make washing you car any quicker?

I understand that they will reduce the swirls etc by loosening grime first but I dont want to get one if I use it once or twice.

Cheers

I have the exact same setup as you.

I use snowfoam every wash, snow foam, rinse, 2 bucket method, rinse, dry. Simple enough, the system is just plug and play. It's pretty fun too - I'd recommend!

as above, personally i treat the wheels and leave it on whilst i set the karcher up and snow the car. Leave it to drip off whilst i sort the two buckets and bucket for the wheels.

Clean the wheels with my brushes by which point the foam is all but dripped off and then use the karcher to rinse the foam and the grime its loosened off.

the better your seal/wax the better the result of snow foam.

Ive got the cleanyourcar.uk one which is good. 5 seconds to click on to the karcher. i use iron x and cyc snow foam every fortnight. no need to use it every time you clean the car, espically in the summer. Best use is in the winter when your car will get covered! well worth i it IMO, but all depends what you want from it. It wont save you time just add time really, youre just adding another cleaning step on to the steps you already have.

I have the karcher foam lance that came with my k2. Am I doing something wrong?? Mine does not seem to foam like others pics I have seen on here. Tried two types of snow now, so not that. Just does not seem very 'foamy', more liquidy. I put about 1/4 snow in and 3/4 warm water. Any ideas?

cheers for the replies guys. I had a look at the karcher foam lance, they were pretty cheap (£20 ish) but after reading a few reviews on detailing world it put me off, pretty much as you said Stoffey not much foam. Think im going to go for a HD Autobrite one.

Tried turning the end and the adjustment wheel on top?

If so strip and clean it, there is a guide on YouTube but mine was a barstool to do

most snow foams you only dilute fractionally, definaty not 3/4. also maybe because its just a karcher snow foam lance.

Thanks, think I will just end up buying a new lance to go on my karcher, the foam lance I have came with the karcher new 3 months ago! So I know it can't be knackered already! Just obviously not as good as the autobright hd one. Looks like I will be ordering one of them then!

the one that comes with the karcher isnt a foam lance, it just adds soap to the pressure washer, you need to get a proper foam lance attachment, thats what people use that you see on pics etc, not the one that karcher sell.

^^ this.

You'll need a 'proper' foam lance to get the thick foam you've seen in pics.

To the OP, yes IMO they are worth it. I use mine everytime I clean the car. You can use it as an extra step in the cleaning, or, if you're feeling lazy (like me most of the time) I snow foam mine, then just use 2 buckets of water to rinse/wash it off with using my wash mitt.
