Recently been getting a burnt oil smell when the car was hot.. After a mission to untighten the oil drain -found out the gasket had been burnt away!!

Previous setup and new, the 271bhp setup is slightly behind but you get the idea.

As a few of you may know: I was due to run at the sprint day in Lichfield but whilst driving up noticed a lot of turbo whine when I came off the motorway.. The car had been running for approx two hours hard driving at this point. Pulled the car over, luckily had a tool kit with me.. Whipped the air filter off and confirmed that the turbo bearing assembly had failed
Called the AA and whilst waiting gave Paul at RS Tuning a call to source a new centre section, within 5minutes he had found one in the UK, but interestingly enough asked if I wanted one with a bearing upgrade as a few have seen the standard garrett bearing cage break! I opted for the metal cage bearing upgrade and the total came in at a little over £1200 (that's without turbine housing).
Parts arrived next day and were fitted:
New turbo in..
Some improvements have also been made in addition to the uprated turbo: The electric coolant pump is ECU controlled so only runs occasionally, I have now wired it so it runs all the time the car runs and 5minutes after ignition off. Also rejigged some of the coolant pipe work and gave everything a really good clean..

Glad you got it sorted mate. My plan to drop in on the sprint day was partly to see this epic motor.....
Can now confirm, that have received plate retention documents through and an Audi S1 has been ordered!! Delivery is due September and then the clio will be going up for sale
