seized rear caliper?

Hi guys, since my lad has had his 197 the handbrake dont work, i have been under it and only one caliper is returning any easy quick fix and where is the handbrake adjuster is it under the exhaust? cheers john.

Check to make sure the cable is returning and it's the caliper that's sticking. If the cable and caliper both don't return the it's most likely the cable itself. They are very common for seizing up.

Cable is fine but the caliper is seized, does anyone have a off side caliper i could buy?

It is usually the handbrake cable. Take the wheel off and push the handbrake lever on the caliper to its stop. You may need to lever it with something back. The disc and hub should then spin. Apply the handbrake and see if it returns and the disc spins, if not it is the cable. Mine was returning with the mechanism of the caliper but because the cable was not free it did not let the caliper hand brake mechanism fully return so the disc would not spin. Loads of WD40 was a temporary fix until I got a new cable.
