Rust on clio chassis

As above that's your radiator support, they're shit and all do that.

If your car is less than 12 years old you can claim against Renault (prepare for a battle).

Or the 4 options are
1) Wheeler Motorsport for an aluminium one (so won't rust), but it doesn't have the legs that go to the subframe, so you can't put on the undertray (well you will have to make something to attach the rear of the undertray to) they're £150
2) buy a new one for Clio RS, can't remember price, but I'm sure it was more than £200
3) buy a non-genuine one for a non-RS Clio, they're like £70, but they need modifying, you need to drill out the mount that the radiator sits on and put it where it should be for RS versions (using your current one as a template), then weld that on and paint
4) buy another used one, will end up similar to yours after a few years

Cheers guys, prob go with option 4. Sure if i get another 1-2 years out of it that would be acceptable.. its a 2007 but has only 42k miles on it. Are they hard to fit. How many hours work

Problem with 4 is trying to find one in good shape, so if you do great, if not look at 3.

It's easy enough to change, take off undertray, all the bolts where bumper plastics attach onto the front part (I had bumper off already, so I can't remember remember the next bit if some some bolts are covered) take off the bolts at the front.
There's a bolt on each leg part for an upright support, then it slides forward, opposite to fit new one.

Nope, that's the subframe that supports the engine, some people have supported the radiator but many of us haven't as the radiator hoses hold it in place just fine.

I think new ones from Renault are around the £150 mark as I was told they made a huge batch of them. Either way it will need powder-coating so you're still looking at £200 I suppose.

That's a great price if true, I wonder if any one can confirm? As last time I looked (it was a little while back) they were way more than £200, why people were opting for the non-RS one and move the mounting point.

This was back in around September/October last year, I remember Mick telling me as I had my powder-coated one fitted. Not sure if Brexit has made any difference since then?

Yea but it's not just the price from what I understand they only sell one type and the rad bracket does not work with the 197 so you have to removed your old bracket and weld it to the new one so there are non genuine ones for sale which are between £60 - £90

Now just after saying all that the Dealer is charging £180 or so for the 8200803451 which they say is still available and I will be able to tell you Friday mine was replaced at the Dealer under warranty 31/10/14 and last month changing the oil I went to undo the plastic sump guard bolt and the metal around the bolt broke off and came away now this is a small bolt with a 10mm spanner on a 6 year old chassis part which is part of the impact crumple zone which is highly shocking and dangerous. IT is known as Shock Absorber

Update:
Well I picked up the front cross member yea Renault still make them but the holes for the gearbox side plate are missing I have to be honest Renault I'm very disappointed with, first I got a steering rack that did not fit now a cross member that lasts 6 years that you have to repaint and drill the holes my paperwork shows when the car was 6 years old the cross member was replaced under warranty and now that one 6 years later the sump guard bolt section broke off not the nut-sert but the metal plate section that holds it.

Now this is also a problem for Clio Mk4 as the part is the same and it's now around 6-7 years I would expect this to start happening from now on.

Like RSRowe mine never had that extra plate, just the one on the right (the normal one that bolts the chassis leg)
