Renault warranty

Does anyone happen to know weather Renault would cover bolster repair on the recaro seats like if the cars only a year old?

i dont know what to do as i didnt realise they were wearing as bad as they are and never said anything to the renault dealer and the problem is where i got the car is over 200 miles away. They also failed to tell me how much warranty i had :S

They should do as, you can argue that the seats are "not fit for purpose". Depends on your dealer really, some will accept it but some won't, if they won't then get onto Renault customer services.

Bear in mind that the dealer may want to see you get in and out of the car so that they can blame you if you touch the bolster. The service manager at Chesterfield Renault was a right tit and has tried all the excuses with me when I have had warranty work.

They clearly dont see it as an issue if they were a problem in the 197 then proceeded to fit the same seat design to the 200 and megane 250.

The seats in my Meg are leather and older than my200 but No wear but the 200 seats had a lot of wear on the top and bottom which were none leather

 That's ridiculous. It's almost impossible to get out of the car without touching the bolster and asking you to do so it's stupid. It's a seat, how the hell are you going to get in and out of the car without touching it?

Morons.

You can take it to any Renault Dealer, they will look at them and contact RUK.
RUK will then send that dealer new one's and pay them to change them for you.

Had mine done after 2 years and TBH mine only had very slight wear, i just told them i wasn't happy about the wear and they said they would replace them both (driver and passenger) FOC without even batting an eye lid.

Must say my car had that 'new, just out of the showroom' smell to it when i got it back

Dear Renault owner,

Please note that to maintain your Warranty you must levitate in to your seat. Do not actually sit/move/get in or out of the seat, as this causes it to wear...

Looking forward to them asking me to change gear and operate a clutch when my gearbox goes pop

Small update:

So I rung my local Renault dealer and its going in on Saturday to have the seats checked over and he said they should be covered under warranty so fingers crossed

Update:

Basically the dealers have both been really crap at getting back to me and so I took it further to Ruk and they have just come back to me saying the recaro's are not covered under warranty as they are putting the defect down to wear and tear so slightly ****** off and even thinking about selling the meg and calling it a day as I don't see why I should pay for the seats to be repaired and the alloy to be fixed what a joke!!

Who did you speak to? Don't accept that as an answer. A seat is not a wear and tear item ffs!

Renault are useless.

Full stop.

Total clown shoes.

Its disgraceful the level of service given.

I would put a thread up in ownership experience on renaultsport- things would soon change-

Title it like 'is this how Renault treat their customers'

Say how much you spent, all from a main dealer, recite the countless bolster repairs done under warranty on the 197s - you should start to see traction.
