Remap??

Hi everyone, what's your opinions on Ktec remaps?

I've got my car booked in Saturday but have heard a handful of bad reviews on them and now I'm debating if I should go ahead with it or not!!

Generally pretty much everyone will tell you to go to RS Tuning (In Leeds) based on what I've seen on the forum.

Although I have no experience of KTEC or RS Tuning so can't comment first hand

Thanks for the reply [MENTION=52455]CallorFold[/MENTION]! I've heard good things about rs tuning but it's a treck from the south East (where I live) so I chose Ktec. They have been a respectable renault specialist for a long time so I can't see myself regretting going to them. Soon see if I'm right when my engine blows up on the drive home lol!

Haha I don't think it'll blow up I think they just have a bit of a reputation for exaggerating their figures which makes people question the quality of the map/rollers they use.

I've not read of any actual issues with KTEC maps around the forum though

I am sure everything will be fine , they are a well established company in the Renault world.

Run while you can.

Blew up my 1.1 tce. 2 days after a map it would hit limp mode at 4.5k.

After that, 3 cylinders.

After that, I got a 200 and warn everyone. Proceed at your own risk. Nobody has anything bad to say about rstuning though.

Where in the south east are you? Engine dynamics would be my second choice to rstuning as they definitely know their stuff when it comes to Renaults

I had mine mapped there. That was about 3 years ago and to be fair they did nearly completely map out the flat spot as it was unbearable driving it since the decat. Its been going well ever since. Never had a problem with the engine. It ran spot on. As far as over exaggerating figures, I only got 201/202, which is a normal decent figure.

I'm down on iow flat spot been problem all winter and got worse as it has gone on, would like to hear more ktec reviews as about hour drive from Southampton via ferry off island but long drive to Leeds......

Cheers for all the reply guys! I'm in Medway Kent [MENTION=53102]DS197[/MENTION] will have a look at engine dynamics today. Need to make my mind up soon though as its booked in for Saturday lol! Will let you all know how it goes! Definitely looking forward to the drive back through new forest if I do go to Ktec :driveby:
