Remap

Probably on here already but would appreciate your opinions. Looking at getting my 197 remapped/ stage1 tuned asap. Thinking of using RS tuning or K Tech. Is there much price difference between the two? Also are the results noticeable enough to warrant the cost? :confused1:

You don't need to map a car to suit breathing mods. The ecu, especially the newer ones adjust over a short time to suit the changes.

A generic map on the standard cam shafts will only advance your ignition timing by about 1 to 2 degrees.

I suppose there is no harm in getting it mapped but at the same time you will probably see little to know gains performance wise. Possible removal of flat spots through the rev range etc.

Remap gives an extra 5-15bhp from what i've seen. Big gains are in torque at low rpms.

A remap should also help the cold start problems and smooth the power delivery making it much more enjoyable to drive
