Rear Diffuser Brackets

Hello.

Might be a weird question, but these two bits circled in red below, the brackets that support the front end of the rear "diffuser" are really pretty heavy. I'm just wondering if anyone has given them the holesaw / angle grinder treatment for the purposes of weight saving or boredom?

I'm thinking, like this.

Sounds very fancy. I'm think hacking holes in mine will be better for keeping with the overall 'ghetto' vibe I'm going for.
